Team

Building AI that works where customers actually are.

Biscuit AI is built by operators, engineers, and customer-facing builders who understand that real-world AI is not just a model. It is product, data, hardware, deployment, support, reliability, and commercial execution working together.

We are building physical AI sales and support agents for retail and service environments, designed to answer questions, guide customers, support staff, and turn every interaction into useful operational insight.

Operating model

A focused team with a wide surface area.

Biscuit is intentionally lean, AI-native, and execution-led. The next wave of customer experience will not live only in apps, websites, or call centers. It will show up in stores, counters, lobbies, aisles, kiosks, and service points.

That takes a team that can move across software, AI, hardware, deployment, customer success, sales, and operations without losing speed.

Our engineering base is anchored in New Zealand, where product and technical execution move quickly. Our go-to-market and customer-facing work is anchored in the United States, close to the retailers, brands, partners, and deployment environments we serve.

Engineering New Zealand

Product, AI systems, platform, tools, and technical execution.

Go to market United States

Retail customers, strategic partners, pilots, and deployments.

The work takes more than one discipline.

Product engineering

Our engineering group builds the platform layer that makes Biscuit useful in physical environments: conversational AI, retail data ingestion, recommendation logic, reporting, deployment tools, and systems that connect customer-facing endpoints to business outcomes.

AI and systems

We work across model orchestration, speech, vision, reasoning, retrieval, edge constraints, evaluation, and in-store interaction design. The goal is useful, reliable AI that performs in the messy conditions of the real world.

Deployment and customer success

Physical AI has to be installed, observed, improved, and supported. Our deployment function turns pilots into repeatable operating systems, working closely with customers from setup through launch, learning, and expansion.

Go to market

Our U.S. go-to-market function works with retailers, brands, venues, and strategic partners to shape pilots and deployments around measurable commercial outcomes.

Advisory and partner network

Biscuit is supported by advisors with experience across venture capital, compute infrastructure, AI systems and inference, automation, research, retail technology, and technical thought leadership.

Founder

Built from deployment experience, not theory.

Lincoln Smith, founder and CEO of Biscuit AI

Lincoln Smith founded Biscuit AI after more than a decade building, selling, and deploying automation, computer vision, and AI systems in retail and customer-facing environments.

Before Biscuit, Lincoln built four startups, including one that generated more than $1B in sales, and led work across automated retail, machine learning, computer vision, and physical customer experiences. He has personally sold and implemented AI and automation for global brands, giving Biscuit a practical bias from day one: build what can be deployed, measured, and improved.

Biscuit reflects that operating style. Product first. AI-native execution. A clear focus on turning physical spaces into intelligent service environments.

How we work

We move like a small team and think like an infrastructure company.

Biscuit is not building a chatbot for retail. We are building the customer-facing AI layer for physical environments, where reliability, handoff design, accessibility, reporting, uptime, hardware readiness, brand safety, and measurable business value all matter.

01

Build for the floor

A store, lobby, counter, or service point is different from a browser tab. We build for noise, ambiguity, imperfect data, changing product ranges, and real human behavior.

02

Keep the system useful

Every interaction should help the customer, the operator, or the business. We design for clarity, not gimmicks.

03

Learn from deployment

The best product signals come from live environments. We test, observe, improve, and turn real-world behavior into better systems.

04

Use AI to build AI

We work AI-natively across engineering, sales, customer success, research, operations, and internal workflows for higher leverage, faster learning, and less organizational drag.

Culture

The kind of people who thrive here.

Biscuit is a good fit for people who like hard, practical problems. The work sits between frontier AI and physical-world operations, so the team needs people who are comfortable with ambiguity but obsessed with execution.

  • Like shipping more than presenting.
  • Care about customers, not just architecture.
  • Can move between strategy and details.
  • Want to build systems that leave the laptop and work in the real world.
  • Believe small teams with the right tools can outperform much larger organizations.

Help us build the AI layer for physical retail.

We are looking for people who want to build at the edge of AI, retail, automation, and customer experience.
